Happy with the refresh. Really rubbish under the last two managers watching fifteen sideways passes to reach the halfway line, followed by one intercept in midfield and a three-pass goal to the opposition on a concerted break.

Reasonably happy, I think.

Much-loved model pro and a great player for Liverpool. Should have great links with them as well as in Finland and Scandinavia. He was in charge of a big, big club which must have come with a hell of a lot of pressure, especially with it being his first job in management, and it's not as if he was disastrous is it.. I just hope he is planning on being here for the long term.

Not a bad honours list either as a player:

Finnish Cup (2): 1992, 1995
FA Cup (2): 2000–01, 2005–06
League Cup (2): 2000–01, 2002–03
FA Community Shield (2): 2001, 2006
UEFA Champions League (1): 2004–05
UEFA Cup (1): 2000–01
UEFA Super Cup (2): 2001, 2005

Personal awards[edit]
UEFA Team of the Year (1): 2001[44]
Finnish Sportsperson of the Year (1): 2001[45]
Premier League Player of the Month (1): November 1999[46]
PFA Team of the Year (2): 1999-2000, 2001-2002
Finnish Footballer of the Year (9): 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008,[47] 2009,[48] 2010[49]

Happy. Fits the image of the club - slightly out of left field, a progressive toung coach with e perience to bring something different whilst playing good quality football.
His backroom appointments will be very interesting.

Just terrible watching the two most successful seasons in the last 22 years, in a more fantastic setting and higher regular crowds that any Albion fan has ever dreamt of. I'm not sure how we managed to get through it. Thank God that's over.

I'm happy ish, I don't know enough about Hypia as a manager to comment too much. Time will tell if it's a good appointment.
