The player himself has said he's close to a move to a top half championship team so there could be something in this.

NOTTS County have received no offers for Bartosz Bialkowski after the goalkeeper reportedly claimed he "is close to a move".

In a question and answer style interview on the Polish football website, Weszlo, the former Southampton goalkeeper says he is hoping to step up to the Championship.

The 26-year-old stops short of naming the team involved but says they are in the top half of the division.

Asked whether he plans to stay at Notts, Bialkowski (pictured) says: "I still have a year contract but I admit I want to go.

"I know that I can afford a better level, a better league.

"A lot is happening around me, I get phone calls from different managers.

"I even had offers from other countries.

"But I want to be in England. I am close to the move.

"The club is from the top half of the Championship."

Meopham, Kent.
Albion are reportedly interested in Polish keeper Bartosz Bialkowski, currently at Notts County.

Ex Southampton.

Ex-Southampton, but let's not pretend he's played Premiership football, as I'm sure he was there in their League One days. I think that has been his level tbh, so I wouldn't be happy with him being ahead of Walton in the pecking order.

I've only ever heard bad things.

In fact, I remember thinking how sh*t he was for Southampton in League 1.

The first video makes him look shit, whilst the second makes him look unstoppable.

Only concern is his parrying - he seems to push the ball back into danger areas quite often - ok when surrounded by defenders but suicide when not. I've not seen much of him since his Southampton days when he did well to keep Davis out of the side, but had a bad patch of form.

I'll reserve judgement until a) he signs and b) i've seen him in action. I'm not going to rule him out for mistake she made 3+ years ago.

He had a famously terrible game for Southampton at one stage. But has been very consistent for County & had significantly improved his reputation during his spell there. So who knows?

If we did sign him there's nothing to say he's going to be our no.1 keeper, for all we know Ankergran might have decided after 2 years as a back up keeper he wants to move on to be a first choice somewhere or we might be selling Walton and just need another back up keeper anyway.
