Are Catholics going to win the World Cup AGAIN?

... is Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Italy, Belgium, Uruguay, Portugal or other Catholic country going to win the World Cup again,
or do you think any Protestant, Muslim or Orthodox team might be able to stop them this year?

Also, what do you think is the reason for the domination of Catholic teams in football (apart from the fact that God loves us the most)?

Birth rate. Keep on rolling that dice and a six will turn up eventually.

Well in that case England with 56 million people should have a better team than Spain with 48 million or Argentina with 42, and much better than Portugal, Belgium or Uruguay for example. And if that's the case, where are the powerful Muslim teams (the highest birthrates in the world), and why do China and India with their huge populations have no success in football? Looks like there's no easy answer...

The south people in ireland exposes a major flaw in your prognosis

Well, there are always exceptions to every rule.

The result of your equation might as well be, let's say, Nigeria. So, maybe it's about the number of people praying for their teams, saying the right prayers? ;)

Anyway, everyone in this thread must surely realise (merely by scientifically analysing the results of teams from Catholic countries) that the level of success of Catholic teams is definitely not a coincidence. The numbers speak for themselves--God exists, and He/She is a Catholic. Q.E.D. :D

How so? At around 4m people, they are one of the smallest nations to have qualified, and have done so on 3 of the last 6 occasions. Pretty successful in comparative terms?

It worries me that adults can believe in a man in the sky you can talk to to help your football team win.

Interesting theory, I smell another conspiracy thread emerging!

What inspired your user name (yes, I do know where it comes from).
