Big assumption that they have made their decision/ the manager has agreed to join just because something they may go to is taking place abroad.

We have been told that the club are not in a rush so no reason to expect anything imminently IMO.

I'm sure the Accrington Stanley chairman was thrilled it was in Faro, rather than somewhere closer to home.......or do the FL cover the air fare????

I suspect being the chairman of Accrington is not his main source of income!!!!

An English Football League meeting in Portugal?

Could they not find a conference room in England?

Villamoura last year.

probably tomorrow if there is going to be one, otherwise it'll be when they come back

Or it could be when they actually have chosen and appointed someone!

Football League clubs will meet in Faro, Portugal on Thursday for their Annual General Meeting.

Does this indicate announcement tonight/tomorrow?

Reading between the lines, I would say it means that Bloom and Barber are flying out to Faro for the Football League AGM, although I could be wrong!

They need to announce it before they go, otherwise they'll have to queue outside a telephone box with a handful of escudos and carefully dial the number waiting for the clicks to ensure the connection's being made.

So if it is not this morning, I am guessing we are unlikely to see any news until probably early next week once they have finished their jolly/business meeting. Oh well no need for the refresh button for a few days.

Exactly what a waste of money for their jollies paid for by us who keep the Football League afloat.
Why would the English Football League go to meet in Portugal ?
Why not a conference centre or the like in Birmingham as it's the middle of the country , and tea and biccys for everyone staying in a nice Black Country B&B.
Oh no !!! Portugal for them with almost certainly 5* hotels , fine wines , cordon bleu food etc etc all expenses paid by.......US !!!!!!

:ffsparr: Where do you think the football league generate most of their income from ??
Not all in sponsorships from Sky Sports , BT, Sports companies etc, oh hang on WE the public keep them in cash too.
And .... Oh yeah the fees our football clubs the length and breadth of Britain pay are with money from ? GUESS WHO ?????

Do you KNOW what percentage of our match ticket payments go to the Football League? Do you actually KNOW any of the figures involved - sponsorships and subscriptions. Or is this just another of your cheap shots based on what you WANT to be true rather than what you KNOW to be true? (As in your inaccurate comments about Hyppia.)

If you have an opinion, that's fine, but don't state it as fact.
