So we were having a discussion in the pub last night over the importance of coaches and managers in differing sports.
We came up with
Most important: NFL. Seeing as each play is scripted and if one player doesn't perform the task he's been assigned to do by the coaches, the whole play is likely to go tits up the coaches role is crucial.
Least: Cricket. While coaches have their place in training and in the mechanics of bowling and batting, in the actual game itself, they do very little indeed.
Any thoughts?
