Get a Golden Retreiver. They are expensive but worth it. He was my World and I still miss him badly.

Someone who needs something to salivate and jump on you on their return. The wife doesn't appreciate me, but the dog does. I also need an excuse to go for a walk.
I can honestly say my mate got me through some shit. He was my companion and biggest fan. I totally loved him. It is amazing how a Dog can give you so much, truely incredible. We were together for over 15 years and I miss him every single day since he went just before Xmas 2013.

Black Labrador. He's a great family pet although I wish he wouldn't keep rubbing fox poo into his neck.
