Snooker star Ali Carter

has lung cancer and will undergo chemotherapy very soon.

Just under a year ago the twice world championship runner-up was diagnosed with testicular cancer and survived that. On top of both cancer diagnoses he also suffers from Crohn's disease. The poor guy has been dealt a very cruel hand with his health. It certainly puts everything into perspective.

Best wishes to the captain for a full and speedy recovery and hope he's back playing snooker very soon.

Sad to hear. He has, as you say, been through the mill with health problems in recent times. It's only a few weeks ago that he gave Mark Selby a real run for his money in their 2nd round match at the World Championships on Selby's way to winning the tournament. He seems a very tough, down to earth character and hopefully that will stand him in good stead for the battle he has lying ahead.
