Is it possible to somehow retrieve deleted text messages?

My wife's phone has taken it upon itself to delete the entire contents of its inbox, including a load of messages she wanted to keep.

It's an old samsung phone, so no cloud backup or anything.

Any ideas?

Sounds like she's cheating and destroyed the evidence.

It really depends on the model of phone. If its old enough to be running a custom Samsung OS realistically no, there's not a chance. If its an Android or Bada phone there might be.

It's pretty old. Tocco lite, or something?

You can retrieve them from your service provider. They are required to keep copies of them. I'm not sure for how long. But it's all part of our Big Brother society.

Failing that, I'm sure our security services could help.

There is a way to retrieve text messages that have been deleted, you can buy a card reader for £30-40 on Amazon

What kind of card reader? A sim reader? (The phone has no sd memory card, or similar)

Not when the phone only has internal memory and doesn't save messages to the SIM.

If its the phone he said it is, no; it runs the old Samsung featurephone OS; the one they replaced with Bada
