Sussex trained Sir Mike runs in the 5.05 at Newmarket and having spoken to a joint owner this morning, it has an outstanding chance at 3/1 (he said it might well go off favourite at around 7/4 to 2/1). Frankie Dettori is the jockey in his only ride there which shows how highly he rates this horse.

Hopefully it can get the weekend off to a flyer.

I went in three betting shops in Haywards Heath and they had all taken a bit of money for the horse. Going up 6lb shouldn't be too much over the mile distance.

Apologies to everyone that backed the horse. There was late support for it and started as 2/1 favourite. Was well in the mix three furlongs out but faded badly.

Will stick to football in future.
