Why aren't we supporting the poor people of Brazil. Normally it's our proud boast that we are the first to support the world's hard done by people. Have we lost our morals because we are being selfish in wanting to watch the footie? Surely we should have pulled out ages ago and held an emergency World Cup someplace else.

I think even worse is that 2 years later is the Olympics and surely that is hugely more expensive
than the World Cup. Very sad - especially if you have visited Brazil and know what a great country it is
and people they are.

I hope holding it in Brazil backfires on fifa. It's time they were brought crashing down and the inequality that exists out there may be the thing to do it. It's still not too late to choose sensible hosts instead of Russia and Qatar. If football ended up with a new, transparent governing body, it'd be a start. Then we could hope for change here with the fa and premier league.

Isn't it just because they are getting excited about hosting two major events and that will help take their minds off how bad it is living in a shanty town. We all sometimes need a diversion to take us away from how mundane life can be sometimes!!!!

brazil is now one of the largest economies in the world. they should look after their own people. and by the way the uk still, for some odd reason still give millions to brazil
