There's a chrome extension version for the above example called 'Readline'

There are many ways to use it. For me personally, I highlight the text that I want to read and hit the space bar, but you can set it so it opens up once you've highlighted the text...perfect for block of text etc...

I've set it to 450 words per minute. It goes faster though...

Started using this a few months back and was impressed at how quickly I could build up my speed. But ultimately I don't really read blocks of text that are that long on a regular basis and day to day it has really fallen out of use for me.

Definitely useful in the right circumstances though

It's amazing, mate. Sure, reading books for the sake of reading at your own pace is great; however, for the boring shitt you don't want to spend your time reading? Just use this!

I quite like it, however, I tend to find that after using it I only recall/know the general gist of what I've read without any fine detail, which is a shame.

That said, it'd be great to help blitz through long work documents (would ruin the fun of reading a book though).
