Too old but could be an advisor to a young new untried manager just starting after retiring from playing as he did. Perhaps somebody like Matt Upson nearing the end of his career

No transfer budget except for the £1,500 he bought John Keeley with. What a great signing he proved to be.

Mullery did not fail second time around. 15th in the Second Division was an outstanding achievement given the decimation to the side as the club sought to reduce its wage bill.
