With the season over it's time to start rebuilding, here are the players from the current first team whose contracts I would extend and those I wouldn't mind selling or not giving new contracts.

Extend;
Kuszczak - unlikely but great if it can be done
Bruno
Calderon
Upson
Lualua
Orlandi
Ward - sign permanently
Lingard - sign permanently

Don't extend;
Rodriguez
Lopez
Ankergren
Hoskins - think he is terrific but rarely fit

Wouldn't mind leaving;
Buckley
Greer
Agustien
Chicksen

Any thoughts?

Agree with that list pretty much, except for Chicksen who I think has a lot of potential.

I should have added to that list that in replacement terms I'd add 2 strikers, one hard-hitting midfielder, one strong centre-back and a new goalkeeper (two is Kuszczak leaves)

Judging by our performance after Greer went off yesterday I would be reluctant to let him go unless an adequste replacement was in place.

I agree that we'd need a very decent replacement, and it should be someone with pace as we're painfully slow and immobile in the centre back dept.

Lingard would be great if we had a spare £7million or so, seeing as Utd turned down £5m from Fulham just a couple of months back. Not happening.

From the team that started yesterday, I'd like to see Calderon, Ward, Ince and Dunk here next season. I would lose any sleep over any of the others tbh.

At least Man U still have a sense of humor......

Of course he's not worth that (yet), but not being a selling club they can afford to put whatever price tag they like on their young talent as it's a win/win.

Extend

Calderon
Upson
Lualua
Ward - sign permanently
Ankergren - as back up with Walton, making the subs bench now and then

Don't extend;
Kuszczak - Big wages, better spent elsewhere. Solid Championship keeper to replace on less money
Bruno - Big wages and injury prone
Orlandi - Decent wages and injury prone
Lingard - only sign if free for DS squad/subs bench
Rodriguez
Lopez
Brezovan
Hoskins

Wouldn't mind leaving;

Buckley
Agustien

My thoughts

As much as I did/do like him being realistic, he didnt stand out from what was ultimatly an average Brighton side.

Nervous and inexperienced playing in a nervy side who aren't sure how best to use him. I'd have loved to see him playing in front of Crofts.

He didn't stand out as much as he is capable of, but he did stand out. The lofted pass through to Ulloa yesterday was an example. People said the same stuff about Bridcutt when he started. I think if we'd signed Lingard at the beginning of the year he'd have been running the show for us at the end of the season.

Like I said I do like him but he certainly hasnt shown enough to warrent a huge price tag or to go into the prem, but can see that Man U can charge what they like.

Perhaps a season long loan for us would be good for him (and us)

Now that doesn't seem like a list compiled out of thin air....
