Tomorrow: Good Work - or Woodwork?

With Albion (15 strikes) bettered only in the Hit Woodwork league by Leicester, QPR and Yeovil (16 each), will we be topping that chart of disappointment after tomorrow's game?

Whatever happens, we'll never witness a more sublime solo performance of the crossbar crash than this, from the Master himself.

Is it bad luck? perhaps if we created more chances then we could say we won by 3 goals and hit the woodwork, rather than bemoaning the woodwork.

Interesting, though, that the Championship's highest number of woodwork-strikes* (16) were notched up by both its top and bottom teams. While Reading could manage only a measly 4 such moments of excitement all season. I blame Adkins.

*These days it really ought to be aluminiumwork, but woodwork somehow sounds more authentic. (Or, going back a bit, jumperswork.)

no woodwork it shall be,but it always seems that the rub of the green is afforded to teams that create more
