Why on earth would Martinez go to Spurs? They're a lower placed club, with a trigger-happy chairman and some of the most deluded fans in Britain. He'd also have to move house and patch up the team (particularly if Ericksen is off).

I also don't get this idea that Giggs is going to take a chance of a Prem team. He may still want to play and serve under Van Gaal but if he wants a shot at management, he'd surely go to a lower league team. How many (non caretaker) managers have started at the top? Not many, I'd bet. For the same reason, I can't see Sherwood at a Prem team either - but he'd be back in the Championship

I'd agree with the rest of yours though

Giggs will do a season as assistant I reckon, at United. I just can't imagine him playing a team AGAINST United.

That will upset Sunderland fans Gus going to a BIG club

I'll give up alcohol is Poyet goes to Newcastle.

0.000000000000% chance that.

Small chance he goes to Spurs, but I think he stays at Sunderland for another season at least.

If you have Martinez at Spurs, then who is going to be the Everton manager?

Gus is now in a position to start mouthing off about his abilities and ambitions again. Be interesting to see if he puts himself out there for a bigger job over the summer or if he commits his short term future to rebuilding Sunderland.

Man Utd - Van Gaal
Sunderland - Gus Poyet
Norwich - Tim Sherwood
Fulham - Creepy guy currently there
Newcastle - Alan Pardew
West Brom / Aston Villa - 2 out of Pepe Mel, David Moyes and Malkay McKay
Tottenham - De Boer
Cardiff - Solskjaer
Brighton - Oscar Garcia

Edit; Now I think about it, could see interest in OG from Brom if Mel goes...

Everton have exceeded the expectation and are renowned for not spending. Seeing what Martinez has done for them would persuade Levy to give him a massive transfer kitty.

As usual Everton will look for a cheap option as they did when they employed Moyes and Martinez who were both cheapish coming from smaller clubs. Possibly even from Spain or another part of Europe.

Gus wouldn't give toss about going to Sunderlands rivals I don't think.....
Whether the job is on the table is another thing....

What is all this loyalty crap, most of us would quit our jobs in a flash and go somewhere else if the terms were significantly improved. Offer me a 5yr contact and a 100% pay rise and i'm off, I just don't get it

Everton finished 6th last season and will finish 5th this - that's scarcely exceeding expectation. Yes, Kenwright runs a tight ship but Spurs are not exactly lavish. They spent a lot this season, but Levy made it clear that spending would only be after receiving sales money, so they sold Bale first (they also had a bit of a splurge after shedding Modric).

Yes, they could sell Ericksen but that's going to produce a "massive transfer kitty". I'd be staggered if Martinez went there - Moyes could go there though, if De Boer says no.

Newcastle might be a bigger club than Sunderland, but who would you rather work with..?

Ellis Short who backs his managers in the transfer market or Mike Ashley who makes you pick up scraps and if you develop/unearth a decent player he'll sell him to the highest bidder.

Sunderland job much preferable imo.
