Solly March says his dad tells him what he does wrong - but he welcomes the advice
Solly March is hoping for a short conversation with his biggest supporter after Albion face Derby in the play-offs.
Dad Steve, a former Albion apprentice, watches him regularly and tells the Seagulls’ teenage midfield prospect what he has done wrong.
March senior was on Albion’s books in the late 1980s. His son said: “I wasn’t born then! He used to talk to me about it but not so much now. He gives me advice, because he knows the game.
“He comes to pretty much every game and tells me what I’ve done wrong, which is good to hear, because I need to know what I am doing bad as well as good.”
March is likely to be among the substitutes for Thursday’s first leg against Derby at the Amex after coming off the bench to help Albion into the play-offs at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, his 27th appearance of a breakthrough season under Oscar Garcia.
He was signed from non-league Lewes in November 2011 and was awarded a new four-year contract last month.
March said: “It’s not even three years. I’ve got to keep pushing on and doing the same things.
“You have got to adapt when it’s a new manager. It always takes time, which has showed really. We started the season slowly but, once everyone knew their roles, we have done well and look a good team.”
