Outside of the usual suspects Maradona, Pele and Cruyff which johnny foreigner's did you really rate?

For me one player who always comes to mind is Matthias Sammer, great tackler, could score and had a good engine on him.
291 top level appearances appearances and 84 goals, all from a defensive midfielder.

I wanted to be Gerd Muller when I was a kid.

I remember seeing him do an overhead kick and I just thought, "I want to be him. I want to do that."
