It's OK if you like the Southern Soul style. I just feel that the front guy is hamming it up and there's a black Soul vocalist that could have rendered it more sincerely. It seems the media only take notice when it has a bizarre edginess. Oh for a modern day Otis or James Carr. The vocalist started to lose me when he went for the "Lawdy Lawdys".

It's a great little album. They've not reinvented the wheel or anything but a very enjoyable listen nonetheless. Obviously helps if you have a soft spot for southern soul.
