Glasgow Rangers have managed to burn through £67M in the two seasons since they were liquidated. Reports suggest another £30M is needed in the short term to tide them over before they get back into the top division. The SPFL has told the club that if the club files for administration after the final league game of the season they will be docked 25 points in the 2014/2015 campaign.

How does anyone spend that sort of money in the third and fourth tiers of the MTL??

Have they got Pompey's accountant?

McCoist's salary of £830,000 whilst in the fourth tier of Scottish football was higher than the total wage bill of some of the clubs in that division.

That certainly makes Paul Barber VFM.

<falls over>

That is astonishing.

And also hilarious. Presumably there was also a tidy wee promotion incentive, plus generous win bonuses for beating a bunch of Highland farmers & binmen each week.

Ally has said he doesn't expect the chairman , Mr Wallace to tell him where all the cash has gone and refutes the inference a mountain of dosh went to the players. :smile:

Given that they are 39 points ahead in this league, why should they care. They will be run away leaders by Burns night.

And yet they had a crowd of 46,000+ at the weekend against . . . . Stranraer!!

Stranraer are part timers , one of their defenders was an on duty fireman when that helicopter crashed into the Glasgow pub last November. His shift finished at 8am on the Saturday morning and he played at Clyde in a cup match the same afternoon.

I'm guessing his name wasn't Liam Bridcutt then.

It's crazy that they started again in the bottom division and have amazingly been worse run than the before and have a 99% wages to turnover ratio to win a part time league with literal plumbers and postmen as the opposition.

Even Palace seems to have learnt after their 2 administrations. Its unbelieveable its not like Rangers gates have droppped to 10,000. They paid the ultimate price and had learnt nothing...
