ALBION are sweating on the fitness of Matt Upson and Dale Stephens for their final day crunch match at Nottingham Forest.
Both players are fighting to shrug off ankle injuries for Saturday's clash at the City Ground which will determine whether the Seagulls reach the Championship play-offs.
Upson damaged a tendon in the 0-0 draw at Barnsley on April 5.
The former England centre-half played in last Monday’s 1-1 home draw with Blackpool but was replaced by Lewis Dunk for Friday night’s 2-0 win against relegated Yeovil at the Amex.
Midfielder Stephens was forced off in the closing stages of the Yeovil game.
Reading took Albion’s fate back out of their own hands by winning 3-1 at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
The Royals are fifth, a point and two places above Oscar Garcia’s side, ahead of their closing home fixture against promoted Burnley.
Wigan have dropped to sixth, a point above Albion with a game in hand at Birmingham tomorrow night before visiting Blackburn.
Albion have carried their challenge through to the end with a seven-match unbeaten run.
Head coach Oscar said: "It has been a fantastic season. To be fighting for a place in the play-offs in the last game is an incredible achievement for us."
Forest cannot reach the play-offs after losing 4-1 at Bournemouth on Saturday.
