Brighton & Hove Albion women head coach John Donoghue is expecting a tough challenge from title-chasing Cardiff City on Sunday at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium, 2pm kick-off.

The Bluebirds still have an outside chance of winning the title and Donoghue is counting on his side to be collectively strong as a unit.

He told seagulls.co.uk, “There is a possibility that they can still win the title and will be fighting on all fronts in case someone slips up.
*
“Therefore it will be a very tough and competitive game, but I’m expecting our players to be up for the challenge.

“We’ve put a number of things into place over the past few weeks, ensuring that we have a bit more steeliness about us and create more goalscoring opportunities.
**************
“Our recent goalscoring record in particular has been very pleasing, having scored eight goals in our last four games, and we now need to make sure we’re strong defensively.”
*
Albion have a number of injury concerns ahead of the match, as Charley Boswell is ruled out with a hamstring injury while Paula Howells (hip), Rebecca Merritt (concussion) and Toni-Anne Wayne (dead leg) are all doubts.
*
Charlotte Young has trained fully this week and is in contention for a return to the squad.
