The home side started the match brightly as Emma Harrison made a darting run into the Albion box, but her pass did not find a Charlton shirt.Charlie Carter then had to be alert to clear prevent Clare Rogers’s corner from sneaking in at the near post, before the south Londoners broke the deadlock in the 15th minute.
Graham worked herself into space inside the area and sent her shot past Toni-Anne Wayne, despite the Albion keeper getting a strong hand to the ball.
Albion were dealt another blow moments later, as Charley Boswell was forced off injured and had to be replaced by Paige Adams.
Tammy Waine tried to engineer an equaliser for Donoghue’s side after showing great persistence to get beyond the Addicks backline, but her effort was saved by Megen Lynch.
Adams then raced down the right-hand side and saw her cross-shot hit the upright, before forcing a double save from Lynch with two strikes from close range.
The Seagulls continued to look more threatening towards the end of the half as Waine’s cross found Lucy Somes inside the box, but Charlton quickly cleared the danger.
Albion were then forced into another change after the break, as Wayne went off injured after clashing with goalscorer Graham and was replaced by Rebecca Simmonds.
Charlton doubled their advantage with just under 17 minutes of normal time remaining, when Rosie Paye dispatched the ball past Simmonds at the second attempt after a defensive scramble.
The Addicks almost wrapped up the match a minute later, as Graham raced towards the Albion box only to see her shot rise over the crossbar.
Lily Honor then sparked hope of a comeback in spectacular fashion, as she fired a superb left-footed volley past Megen Lynch to halve the deficit.
Substitute Rosie Kmita then had a chance to score an unlikely equaliser deep into stoppage time after meeting Paula Howells’s ball into the box, but all three points went to Charlton.
