He got through a fair few G&Ts onstage at the Dome last year. If you haven't seen him, well worth paying on the door. Very engaging man to listen to, even if it's less poetry and more his musings on this thing called life.

Probably seen him seven or eight times since the early 80's. Utter genius although as you say, he does like the odd lemonade here and there. A couple of times he could barely stand up and on another occasion in Eastbourne in the mid 80's, he actually didn't make it on stage. The official reason stated, he was "ill". Having seen him in the bar pre show, that was probably correct.

As you say, very absorbing to listen to. Rather like Keith Richards and Shane MacGowan, he's one of those people who really have no right being alive considering their off stage 'habits'.
