Do people who are associated gambling make good football owners?

With Brentford being promoted to the Championship for the first time in over 20 years, and getting a new stadium, with their owner being similar to Tony Bloom . Stoke establishing themselves as a Premiership team, owned by the owners of bet365, and of course us establishing ourselves as a Championship team, while historically being a league 1 team. I was wandering if people who understand gambling make good owners.

Are there any-other owners past and present associated with gambling (they are the only 3 I know of)? Were/are they a success or failure?

One of the Betfair founders (the one who owns the Tom Dascombe yard with Michael Owen) is/was something to do with Swindon.
JP McManus (and John Magnier) used to be Man Utd shareholders and are/were Ladbrokes shareholders.
Dermot Desmond (Betdaq) also used to be a Man Utd shareholder - now a Beggars shareholder.

These people understand risk and reward better and take calculated risks, as opposed to rich foreign businessmen (Forest as example) who just lump money in, buying anyone and everyone hoping to make a quick return.

And how many of those fellas are papped eating a sandwich sat at Huddersfield train station, with a draw string duffel bag at their feet?

Just when you think you couldn't love Tony any more.
