Capacity does not impact on the suitability of a stadium to be used in the Premier league. I recall that after we'd got promoted to the Championship the first time, Withdean was approved for the Premier League in the event we made it 3 in a row.

Blackpool had to make improvements or increase the capacity during their. 1st season in the Prem. They didn't play a home game for the first few weeks.

There is no minimum capacity for the PL. You're ground just has to be all seated and comply with the football grounds safety act. Ie have all your safety certificates in place. There was originally talks of a mim 20,000 capacity for the PL but they never brought that in.

I think the FA pretty much knew the situation wouldn't evolve in our case.
But were caught a bit with their pants down in Blackpools case and imposed some hastily drawn up sanctions.

If you read the page they're the only capacity requirements. For premier league it has lots of other requirements but nothing about capacity.
