Former Albion star Vicente is planning a move into coaching.
The Spanish playmaker has confirmed he has quit playing after failing to secure a suitable offer for the current season.
He is taking a coaching badge back in Valencia and watching his local club, who he helped win the Spanish League and UEFA Cup at the height of his powers.
Vicente parted company with the Seagulls last May after two memorable – but injury-hampered - seasons in England.
He has spent this winter enjoying life with his family in Valencia and following his old club’s progress, notably in the Europa League in which they face Sevilla in the semi-finals tonight.
Vicente said: “I’m doing level one of my coaching certificate but I’ll take it bit by bit. We’ll see if I end up coaching youngsters or if I concentrate on scouting players.
“I watch a lot of football. I’ve been to Mestalla (Valencia’s home stadium) a few times. I’ve got season tickets for the stand and I go there as a fan.
“I got them so I can go one day with my son.”
Vicente's decision to quit means his final game of an illustrious career was at home to Wolves at the end of last season.
