Oscar Garcia gives a hug to the players
ALBION boss Oscar Garcia has hailed Kazenga LuLua's contribution to the stunning win at Leicester as a breakthrough for the unpredictable winger.
LuaLua was handed a rare away start in last night's 4-1 victory over the promoted Championship leaders, which included a second half brace for Leo Ulloa.
Oscar told The Argus: "We wanted to try to keep the ball and we needed players higher up the pitch helping Leo. We thought Kazenga could be this player because when he has the ball he goes forward and he's a threat.
"When he plays at home he plays really well but away he had to improve. I think it was a big step for him. He is an explosive player and sometimes it's not easy for him but he had a fantastic game."
Left-back Stephen Ward, who opened the scoring in the first half and set up the second goal for Jesse Lingard, lasted the 90 minutes despite an injury sustained in a challenge by David Nugent just before half-time.
Oscar revealed: "He (Ward) played all the second half with a swollen ankle. I'm very proud of him. We wanted 18 warriors and we did it.
"It's a massive result for us and I couldn't be more proud of all my players. We were the better team from start to finish. We wanted to play with a high tempo and we did."
Albion are back within a place and two points of the play-offs after Reading were beaten 3-1 at Bournemouth.
The Seagulls are level on points with Bournemouth and Ipswich, who won 2-0 at Huddersfield, with five games to go.
