What happened?

Ball went into the crowd, player (in white, sorry, don't have the sound up and don't know who it was) went over to receive it to take the throw and the fan throw it at the player (in an aggressive action) hitting the player in the knee, the player then went up to the fan. It looks like he tried to swing at him, but either missed, or was just trying to knock the peak of the guys cap, before stewards jumped in and pulled them apart.

Hardly a Cantona moment.

Sky are certainly making something out of nothing.

They seem to be making quite a meal of it on SSN. To me it looked like nothing at all. The Brentford fan did look like a bit of a dickhead though.

The player took a lunge at him though

Mark Connolly, is he the scouse Connolly they've got?

If this is a Crawley player you're talking about, it would be Paul Connolly, a Scouser who once scored an own goal against us from about 45 yards out when he played for Plymouth.

The player involved was Jeffrey Monakana, who had just come on as a sub. He went to retrieve the ball by the dugouts, but had to take a breather on his way over. John Gregory was so enraged that he got the ball and threw it at Monakana, shouting that he should "get his act together and stop wasting his talent".
