While I agree that hosting a marathon is a good advertisement for our wonderful home town I am disappointed with the location & timing of the construction of the temporary go panda foot bridge.
I drive past the palace pier at 6.15am & 5.15pm mon-fri.
That bridge has turned 2 lanes into 1 on one of the busiest roundabouts in Brighton.
Fair enough travel through Brighton on the day of the marathon will be a nightmare but to construct a bridge 3 nights before the event restricting traffic & causing massive tailbacks for commuters travelling to & from work I think is not neccessary.
The bridge could have been constructed in a far more traffic friendly location & as was proved could have been constructed on the eve of the event rather than 3 nights beforehand.
