Not sure I fully understand the logic of this appointment?

Taking over as manager on the 1st of July he won't know if Forest will be a Premiership club or still in the Championship!

What affect will this have on the current regime knowing someone else will be manager whatever happens.

???????????????

Surely just an opinion and that's okay, right? I'm in the camp that thinks he's not up to it. I may be proved wrong however that doesn't make me really, really, stupid.

I think there's a good manager in Stuart Pearce somewhere, and I won't be surprised if he gets them up next season. That said, I won't be too surprised if he doesn't. Interesting recruitment anyway.

His record with the England U21's and the British Olympic football team wasn't a stand out one, and the only advantage he has is that he may draw some really good British players into Forest with his charm.

Still has a lot to prove so I'm with you on this.

Very much in the wait and see cateegory for me. Running an international under 21s team is very different from a day-to-day club job. Time will tell. In that respect it's a risk but his heart is in the club so if he does turn out to cut the mustard then it will be a very good appointment. I honestly don't have a clue how he'll do and I'm sure it isn't just me thinking that.

Didn't he once have an outfield shirt pre-printed for David James while at Man City ahead of shoving him upfront at the end of one game? Or did that not happen. I can't remember if it was just a football myth.

...
"There were still two minutes of normal time remaining, plus five for stoppages," wrote Daniel Taylor, in the Guardian, "when Stuart Pearce, adopting a form of leadership that would have been wacky even by Brian Clough's standards, had the brainwave of replacing a midfielder, Claudio Reyna, with his reserve goalkeeper, Nicky Weaver, and ordering David James to play as a centre-forward."

The game, against Middlesbrough, mattered because it would decide which of the teams would qualify for the Uefa Cup. "I sat at home on Saturday night and thought to myself: 'What shall I do if we're drawing the game late on and need to hit it long?'" Pearce said in explanation, offering scant comfort to the striker Jon Macken, who watched all this happen from the bench. City did win a late penalty but Robbie Fowler's effort was saved. James galumphed about the place and almost broke Doriva in half. "I wanted to unsettle them and in some ways it did," Pearce said. "It unsettled everyone. Them and us."

I can assure you that I am far from stupid but I do not rate Pearce at all and think he is a coaching dinosaur. We'll see who is the stupid one next season won't we.

it wasn't too shabby, got to the U21 finals in 2009 and his win rate was in the 50%'s. actually that's pretty decent.
