Albion women head coach John Donoghue insists that his side must build up some momentum following today’s 1-0 victory at West Ham.Tammy Waine’s strike 20 minutes from time earned the Seagulls a first league victory since November and Donoghue believes it is imperative that his side finishes the season strongly.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “We’ve had one win but still have six games to go, so we need to keep that level of confidence and believe that we can actually win and play well.

“It was a tough game today and we were quite resolute. We had a defensive focus throughout the match, but also broke forward quickly to create some good opportunities."Donoghue also praised the performances of debutants Hayley West and Lily Honor, along with goalscoring captain Waine.
He added, “It’s always tough coming into a team that you don’t really know. They’ve trained with us for two weeks now, so they’re starting to get to know the players and the way we want them to play.
“I feel that we got a steely performance from both of them today.
“Also by bringing in two defenders to the squad, we were able to put Tammy back upfront. She is our top scorer this season and understands the role very well.
“This allowed us to retain the ball better and be more creative in our play going forward.”
