A little help for NEW fans

First I want to tell you a bit about my Albion life...Football league started again just after the end of the 2nd WW. My father who came home from the Army and there was I begging him to take me to football at Brighton,but he hated football. I joined the Navy at the age of 15 and served at the Suez canal debacle at the age of 17. In 1957/58 I was on on HMS Vanguard the last British Battlship when I was posted to the Far East fleet on HMS Alert,but just before this I had leave for a fortnight before flying out to Singapore,I got into Brighton station with just a couple of shillings in my pocket...(at that time I was paid 7/6p a week...a massive 37 and a half pence) I saw this large crowd on the station and I asked this guy why they were there...he told me they were going to see the Albion play Sunderland. I went with them and from that moment I was hooked by the Albion bug. A 2-0 win.
Which,56 years later brings me to the point of this post...I'm now in the position to have seats in the 1901 club..my son who often does a 280 mile return trip to the Amex cannot make the journey sometimes...so rather than waste the ticket I'm offering to a young supporter..who hopefully is his/hers first game in the 1901 club to give them a taste of the Albion.
Of course there are conditions,first they must have their parents or guardians permission.
They must be delivered and picked up after the match.
They will be given a free programme,free drinks and escorted everywhere in the ground,they will have one of the best views in the ground.
I have brought up 3 handicapped children. I know as a child how much it means to go to a match...this is a chance to get your child into the Albion culture for free.
Please PM me and I guarantee your young one will be well looked after and safe.
Even if you don't make this chance,there will be other chances.
Sorry if this long winded but the children of the Albion are our future.

I'm sure someone will leave their child with someone they didn't know, there are laws now against this sort of thing

Maybe a nice gesture but I must admit this does sound a bit strange and there is no way on earth I would hand my child over to a stranger.

Yes,must admit this is what I was worried about...and wouldn't expect anything else from you Ernest...but it is a genuine offer...not all of us are peado's and being bought up in the old fashioned way and appreciated what help I got from genuine people it has kind of made me want to pass on help...and the main thing Ernest...if you do not trust me then don't put your child in my care...you have a choice,it's just so sad there is so much suspicion nowadays...glad I'm not in your world of a murky world!

Fair enough...nobody is asking you too...so sad that there is a lack of trust when you try and help ...maybe I should withdraw the offer to keep the cyncis happy... but there again...there are good trusting people on this planet

Leaving aside the issue of leaving your child with a stranger, what Albion fan would want their child to have their first Albion experience with someone else?!

It just so happened that I got to my first Albion game through someone I never knew before...the trouble today if you try and help someone there is so much skullduggery in peoples minds...for Gods sake...what could anyone do in front of a 28,000 crowd,I could call on several people at the club for a reference...so sad that it is so suspicious... is that what this country is coming to....some child injured in an accident and parents worried that the ambulance personel might sexually touch their child...jeez,we are not that way..as I said,having had 3 handicapped children has been a burden but I want to help, but if you and the murky minds want to make this an issue,then go ahead,OFFER WITHDRAWN....HAPPY NOW!

Agree Freddie,but Ernest must be rubbing his hands in glee now that his suspicions have made me withdraw a genuine offer. And Ernest still has not answered what the legalties are....funny how it all goes quiet when he cannot answer...

Best of luck mate and take no notice of those trying to discourage you. I'm sure there are some trusting parents out there that will take your offer at face value and make the necessary enquiries that you would expect them to in order give their child a great day out.

The difference is that you are talking of taking a child whereas, I believe, you were about 17/18 when you went to your first game. Surely you must have friends with kids or grandchildren that know you?

Personally, I wouldn't let my 10 year old go with a stranger who is just a name on an internet forum, that plus the fact you might read her stories from the Daily Mail!!!!!!
