Brighton & Hove Albion under-21 midfielder Jeff Monakana has signed with Crawley Town on a month's loan.
The winger trained with the League One club this morning and will be available for selection on Saturday, where the 21-year-old could face his former club Preston North End at Deepdale.* * * * * * * **
Monakana has yet to make a first-team appearance for Albion but has been a regular in Simon Ireland’s under-21s, and the academy coach admitted he was delighted to see another one of his players being given a chance out on loan.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It is great that another league club has recognised one of our young players as someone that can go and play for them; it highlights the quality we have here at Brighton.
“Sham [Shamir Goodwin] and Brennan [Dickenson] have grown a lot since they have joined their respective clubs in League Two and it is important as part of their development for our young players to senior football."

Ireland added, “The difference for Jeff though is that he has been there before and done it with Preston. He has played over 40 games and scored goals in that division so what we expect from him is slightly different.
“Having already got the experience we want to see him having an impact on games and we are confident that he will be able to do that for Crawley.*
“Plus, having already played in League One it was important for his development to get him back in the mix of league football.”
The former Arsenal trainee agreed an 18-month development contract with the Seagulls in January following his spell at League One Preston.
