Brighton & Hove Albion Chief Executive Paul Barber believes momentum is building ahead of the Women's World Cup Qualifier against Montenegro on 5th April and praised the ongoing support the club is receiving from the Sussex County FA and Brighton & Hove City Council.
The Albion Chief Executive was joined at the Amex today by England internationals Alex Scott and Casey Stoney, Sussex County FA Chief Executive Ken Benham and Councillor Lizzie Dean in a final push to promote the fixture.

Over 6,000 tickets have already been sold for the match and Barber believes it will be a fantastic opportunity to welcome the England team.

He told seagulls.co.uk, “It’s always a special honour for a club to host a national team and we’re delighted to have sold 6,000 tickets for England’s match at the Amex already."“The Sussex County FA and the Brighton & Hove City Council have both been excellent partners in the bidding process, and we have all joined forces to bring as many fans as we can to the stadium."
Barber also believes the fixture is a perfect opportunity to promote the thriving women’s set-up at the club, as the Seagulls push for Women’s Super League (WSL) status.
He added, “As a club, we have integrated the women’s side of our football operations as much as possible.
“Women and girls’ football is an important and growing part of our sport and, like in the men’s game, we’ve got aspirations to play at the highest level of women’s football too. Therefore the opportunity to host a senior women’s international and to promote the women’s game is a real bonus for us.
“We are very committed to women’s football and hosting this fixture is another big step forward for the game in Sussex.”
