Jesse Lingard felt Brighton & Hove Albion lacked a cutting edge to their play last night – after the Seagulls dominated proceedings, but once again fell short in the final third.
Oscar Garcia's men had chances and openings against the Owls at Hillsborough but were unable to find the breakthrough, before Leon Best’s last-minute winner.
Manchester United loan star Lingard told seagulls.co.uk, “It is disappointing as we dominated the game on a pitch that wasn’t very playable. We got the ball down well, created chances – but for them to score right at the end was a massive blow for us.
“The way they played, with a high defensive line, meant we could get in behind and cause problems for the defence, and we felt we got in behind a few times but the final ball let us down.
“As long as we are creating chances and we are in the right positions – but we need to put the ball away. We just have to try and kill games off early if we can.”
