Brighton & Hove Albion suffered a 3-1 defeat on their last visit to Sheffield Wednesday, continuing the record of never having won at Hillsborough.
Falling behind in the first minute to a Leroy Lita goal, Albion were then reduced to 10 men following Ashley Barnes’s dismissal before Danny Pugh made it 2-0. Andrea Orlandi then reduced the deficit only for Michail Antonio to restore the Owls’ two-goal lead and condemn Brighton to defeat.*
A first-half Giles Coke goal ensured Wednesday won the 2010 encounter while Colin Kazim-Richards secured a share of the points with a last-gasp equaliser in 2005’s 1-1 draw.

Late goals were a theme in the early 2000s as Robbie Mustoe struck a 90th minute winner in 2004 and Shefki Kuqi denied Brighton their first win at Hillsborough with his injury-time equaliser in 2002.
It wasn't until 1973 that Albion secured their first points away, drawing 1-1 before a 1975 3-3 thriller saw the spoils shared for a second consecutive season.
The Seagulls’ first trip to Sheffield Wednesday actually came back in the 1913/14 season when an FA Cup tie saw the Owls emerge 3-0 winners, then 13 years later it was a similar story with Wednesday winning 2-0 in another FA Cup tie.
