Yes, we may have had over 60% of the possession but most of that consisted of repeatedly passing the ball across the back or passing backwards. How many times did anyone really look to make an incisive break through the midfield? Of the twenty plus shots we supposedly had, how many were on target? How many times did anyone get forward alongside Ulloa? Etc. etc! When Ipswich broke they did so quickly. When we "broke" it was invariably slow and ponderous and resulted in either the man in possession turning back on himself or an over-hit cross. Our goal scoring record speaks for itself; hardly attacking, exciting football!

Most of our possession wasn't backward passing or passing across the back.

Ipswich's defensive set up was always going to mean that we would have to patiently pass the ball (you know, like good Premier League sides) probing and waiting for an opening to exploit.

Ipswich's defensive set up was always going to mean that their breakaways would look more incisive because of the greater space in our half as a result of the players we had commited further up the field.

It really isn't rocket science you know.

Heard oscars post match interview and the bloke is deluded. He said the stats showed we had most of the game. So f**kin what, we lost and we have almost the fewest goals scored in the league. Possession means f all if you can't turn it into goals. Too lightweight so we lose to any team thats a bit physical. Jesse, weak, jfc weak, andrews invisible, solly weak, rodrigues weak. Mcarthy new.how to nulify us and oscar had no idea what to do.

Indeed. Anyone who knows about football saw that today. Unfortunately theres a whole lot of negative twats on here who will tell you different because they are just never happy. We played good football today. Lingard and Ince were superb. Everyone I was with in the North Stand just shook hands and said the luck wasn't with us. Only complaint I had was Garcia taking Lingard off. Couldn't understand that.

Ipswich had two banks of four men parked around their 18 yard line for most of the match. They were VERY well organised. The only dissapointment was that we weren't decissive when we did get in behind them.

We really do need to work out a consistent way of winning at the Amex though, our home form is letting us down for the third season running.

Going by the reviews in certain unbiased papers, we edged the game on ability but were unfortunate not to get a result and the result in the end did not reflect how the game was played.

Can't believe some of the negativity on here about the performance - it really is over the top. We created enough chances to score; our finishing was just poor. Ulloa had a hat-trick of crosses on to his head that he could/should have scored from, and Lingard had the 1 on 1 and was set up perfectly by Ullloa on the left edge of the box only to put the shot a few inches wide. On another day we'd have been 2-0 up at half time.

But we weren't- and there have been too many "on another" days this season, when our finishing "was just poor".
