I don't know if it was the quality of the stream or not, but it sounded deathly quiet there today. Even Ipswich didn't appear make much noise.

It was, though as always - the quality of the game always has a MASSIVE impact - pretty much all the game, it was poor on the pitch, therefore it was poor in the stands.

middle class fans ashamed to stand up and make noise.....unless dark (midweek games).

Poor performance on the pitch, unsurprisingly not great atmosphere. Ipswich had good numbers but made little noise. Hope Tuesday is better.

First bit true, second bit nonsense. 99% of the time midweek games are much worse.

Very poor atmosphere today, possible the worst of the season. BHA did play some good football, but it was at 5 - 10 seconds a time, not enough to really believe anything was going to happen. Not enough passion on the field, Lingard and Caskey need some serious tackling practice, lightweight does not come close. Ipswich were poor and a more positive attack would have no doubt had the crowd up for it and I think we could and should have won.

To be fair the singing at the Amex has been pretty poor since we have been there and has got steadily worse. We only really get going when we are playing well which hasn't happened much this season, and away games have always been better for our support.
But having been to a lot of away games, most of the newer stadiums have a lack of atmosphere, it's just the way it is nowadays.
What was funny was how the ground emptied with 10mins to go, it was like a massive effing fire alarm had gone off..!

If the football served up is poor and not exciting then then that will reflect on the atmosphere. I is the same at the Amex as it was at Withdean, Priestfield (no surprises there) and at the Goldstone.

So many aspects of this thread are true. The football has been, let's say average, at times which does not help. Commitment on the pitch WILL generate support in the stands. Chants start in one place and are taken up in all good faith elsewhere but wildly out of sync. Balls to the 'middle class' theory, any prawn sandwich brigade are long gone, but the away games prove that the siege mentality generate a good atmosphere. A large ground with varying views and loyalty value will provide divides.

Get over these, get behind BHA but also continue to call a spade a spade, whether this be in words or with your feet by leaving when you've had enough.

Rant over
