“Two of the previous games ended in high-scoring results and the other was a closely-fought draw. If we play with confidence, then I am sure we can get a good result.“The players have thought about their recent performances and understood that they played at a high level, but any good team has to be effective in both penalty areas.
“If we look at the statistics from the previous match, we can see that we kept possession well in the centre of midfield, but needed to be quicker going forward and produce better clearances at the back.”
Despite a recent poor run of form, Donoghue highlighted the positives of blooding several youngsters into the first team.
He added, “The recent FA and County Cup runs have been nice distractions, but it will be good to have a sustained run in the league.
“The younger players have done wonderfully well in recent matches and this is a great sign for the future. Our main priority has to be preparing these players for senior football and ensure they develop a sufficient understanding to play at this level.”
Albion have a number of injury concerns ahead of the game, with Rebecca Merritt (concussion) and Charlotte Owen (knee) both ruled out. Tammy Waine and Cally Beaumont are also doubts with neck and hamstring complaints.
