Albion’s under-21s edged out Bournemouth in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Withdean.
Strikes from Will Hoskins and Dylan Barnett cancelled out Brandon Goodship’s early opener. The Cherries took just six minutes to break the deadlock, when Goodship went through one-on-one with Christian Walton and produced a cool finish past the Albion keeper.
But Simon Ireland’s side soon grew into the game, as Jeffrey Monakana raced down the left-hand side, but his ball failed to make a connection with an Albion player.
Will Hoskins then scored the equaliser for Albion with a superb strike from inside the box to bring the under-21s level.

Emil Asmundsson then produced a speculative effort from just outside the box which went just past the far post, before seeing another strike blocked after some good work by Rob Hunt.Craig Mackail-Smith also looked lively after recently coming back from a groin injury, firing just wide from an angle before then having two efforts blocked from inside the box.
The Seagulls started the second-half in much the same vain, as Hoskins cut through the Bournemouth backline but fired a chance wide with the outside of his foot.
Albion’s number 7 then nearly latched onto Charlie Harris’s shot from just outside the box, but Flahavan was on hand to collect the ball.
Substitute Dylan Barnett also had a chance to score a potentially decisive second goal, but he shot wide from a tight angle.
In contrast, the visitors struggled to create too many goalscoring opportunities, but has their best chance fell to Mason Walsh who shot over the crossbar with a dipping effort.
Ireland’s side had a chance to win the game when Hunt was brought down inside the box, but his spot-kick was saved by Daryl Flahavan.
But Albion secured victory three minutes from time, when Hoskins found Barnett in space and the full-back produced a clinical finish to secure the victory.
