Matthew Upson is hoping to turn the Amex into a fortress as Albion bid for the play-offs.
This time last year, the Seagulls had embarked on an unbeaten run at home that lasted until the end of the league season – and with six home games still to be played this term, the Albion centre-half is looking for a repeat performance.

“If you look at our run-in last year, our final position was based on our home form,” Upson told Seagull, the club’s matchday programme. “From February to the end of the season it was fabulous and we were really dominating games, so if we can get that back into our play this season, then it would really help us secure a play-off place.
“If you look at our away performances, we’ve had some great results and probably not played half as well as we have done at home, so it’s all about finding that balance between the result and the performance. If we can get both at home then we’ll give ourselves a good chance.”
