had a tremendous bond with the City fans when recoving from cancer

love the Rosler's grandad bombed Old Trafford T-Shirt,don't seem to get humour like that these days

decent bloke, decent player and he's looking like a very decent manager

Thought he did well at Brentford and alittle unlucky to miss out on promotion and to be honest would have been more than happy to have seen him replace Gus.

He was my shout for the job here when Gus was sent packing. He done an amazing Job at Brentford and is proving himself a shrewd tactician. I would have been very happy to see him here. (Not to mention, I had a few quid on him to become our manager at 40/1, so it was personal too). Wigan have got themselves a winner there and I can see him stepping up a level one way or the other in the future.

Looks like you couldn't make up your mind! :)

First you wanted him over Ferguson:

Then you were asking a month later why he was in the running:

To be fair he's done a good job, but he was incredibly lucky at the Amex.

Interesting article about him from the BBC archives here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24944265

Includes the legendary T Shirt and details of his interesting early career in pre reunification East Germany. Might see if his bio. is on Amazon (via the link at the top of the page of course)

He's a very good manager. Did a magnificent job at Brentford too. When you see how quickly things have turned around at Wigan, it makes you realise how dismal a job Owen Coyle did there. Can't imagine he will be getting a managerial gig again outside of Scotland. As for City, they have got too complacent. When their club captain says it is 'only a matter of time' before they win the quadruple, you know there's a danger that they are taking their eye off the ball.

He could cost us very badly this season as that 6th place is looking his - just have to hope Forest continue to bomb bigger than his grandad

Possibly, although yesterdays result from a Brighton perspective was the best possible outcome. IE, potential distraction plus possible fixture pileup with busy midweek schedules between now and the end of the season. Not guaranteed but Wigan wouldn't be the first team to lose their way in the League during a cup run. Fingers crossed........
