Tricky one this but after a few seconds pondering Baldrick gets the vote. Still think Fawlty Towers just shades it over Blackadder.

Tough one but I've gone for Manuel. Consistently strong over 12 episodes whereas Baldrick, like most of team Blackadder, took an entire season to find their feet.

It's close, but the Baldrick character has been seen in far more circumstances and is more complex - Manuel is a little one dimensional for me.

I see what you mean but after that wobbly first series Baldrick proved himself over 18 episodes in which he showed he had much more character depth than Manuel (who was brilliant by the way).
