Albion women’s head coach John Donoghue was disappointed with the collective performance of the team, following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Keynsham.
Rachel Stowell’s fifth-minute strike was enough to inflict a fifth league defeat of the season.
Donoghue told seagulls.co.uk “It needed a big performance from the players today against a team who were below us in the league, but the girls couldn’t do it.
“We had a meeting in the dressing room and questioned whether we need to change a few things and what we can do differently.

“Conceding the goal so early on was a blow; we didn’t track the girl who ran from midfield and we spoke about tracking runners before the game, so that was obviously very disappointing.
“We did have a couple of early chances, but we needed to work the keeper a lot more than we managed throughout the game and that comes from good pressure and winning the ball back quickly.
“Collectively we looked quite far off the pace.”
Up next is the visit of Coventry to Withdean next Sunday, but the Albion head coach is anticipating a completely different test.
“The bigger games sometimes look after themselves in terms of the mental focus and the energy levels needed. We need to make sure that we are physically and mentally prepared, whilst having a steely determination to get the result.”
