Vodaphone connection problems

Not having had a Smart phone for very long I have been unable to get any signal on my phone since about Friday - all I now have on my screen is the circle with the line through it. Never lost signal before even when using it at home. Does anyone who uses this network know if there is a major problem? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Have you tried switching it off then switching it on again?

Devices are clever enough these days to send users offline for 7 days when they notice they insultingly spell the carriers name wrong. Try again next Sunday
