(CTE) Chronic traumatic encephalopathy was previously linked to sports where violent collisions could occur like American Football and boxing. An article in today’s New York Times also links it to the death of a 29 year old American soccer player. Doctors cannot say for certain if heading the ball caused the condition but he was known to be a frequent header of the ball. His parents said they wish they had discouraged him from heading the ball as a youngster.
