Going to visit the in-laws in deepest Herefordshire and would like to connect to t'interweb on a notepad while we're there. I remember things you could plug in, but wondered if there was an even newer-fangled way of doing it these days? The area we're in has a really poor 3G signal as well.

Thanks.

go with a 3g dongle......doesnt matter if you have a poor connection - you just need "a connection" (digital yes or no) - if you have 'a' 3G connection, a 3G dongle will do you well.

I've heard that in rural Herefordshire a notepad is still the paper variety.

My dongle from 3 works well just about anywhere.

look on the mobile co. websites for their coverage map and see which is strongest where you are. if you are in a dip or valley you might be hosed, if in line of sight to a town should be good. might want to consider dial up, if you setup in advance and use mobile sites that are lower bandwidth, its not too bad i'm told.
