Albion's Christian Walton has been called up to the England under-19 squad for the match against Turkey at Chester's Deva Stadium on Wednesday 5th March.*David Burke
The young keeper was called up to a training camp in January, and obviously made a strong impression and has been called into Noel Blake's squad for the friendly international.*
Albion's head of football operations David Burke commented, "Christian has made great progress since joining us from Plymouth and we are all delighted he has been deservedly recognised by the national set up."
Ward is back in the Ireland frame
Meanwhile Stephen Ward has been named in the provisional 29-man Ireland squad for their friendly with Serbia on the same night.*
Ward returned to the Irish international side after Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane replaced Giovanni Trapattoni.
Ward played at left-back in two friendlies in November against Latvia and Poland, and O'Neill was at the Amex for last Monday's FA Cup tie with Hull City - although Ward was rested for the game.*
