Narrowly made it past Yes, Minister in the Round of 16 after comfortably topping it's group, could this prove one match too far for The Young Ones?

Father Ted

Beat The Thick Of It without too much trouble despite close early voting. Plenty of fans on here for both shows.

Please use this chance to post VIDEOS and QUOTES of the comedy you are supporting. Make a case for why it deserves to progress.

Has to be the Young Ones for me, crude, clumsy and loud, it was brilliant for its time and had a huge influence over my growing up in the early 80's.

Young Ones, over 30 years old and still being watched by the next generation.

Mention Father Ted and all you get is ''who''?

What a chance for the relative minnows of Father Ted and The Young Ones to make an unlikely appearance at Wembley. With no league to worry about, there shouldn't be any misguided, disgruntled fans moaning about a 'weak' side being fielded. A tight affair looks on the cards.

The Young Ones involved Ben Elton so that's a NO from me, although TYO's having the mighty Motorhead performing Ace of Spades - well actually that entire Bambi episode - almost swung it their way.

Father Ted is pretty good. But the Young Ones reinvented the art form of the sitcom and gave me about 90% of my 12 year old vocabulary and silly facial expressions, so that should be walking it.

Good fixture, two top drawer qualities.

Father Ted is OBVIOUSLY better.

It very obviously isn't and that should be patently obvious.

The most curious thing..
Kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse.

edit: so the ability ti start a video from a particular point still doesn't work in vBulletin? :) From about 36s (to avoid the music).

edit2: actually that could have been a better selection tbh.

Whilst The Young Ones was required viewing to anyone of a certain age it wasn't actually always that funny. So for pure comedic reasons Father ted for me.
