Albion women travel to Portsmouth tonight in what will be the team’s second league match of 2014.John Donoghue’s side will be going into the game on the back of last Sunday’s 4-0 FA Cup victory at Plymouth, but the Albion head coach anticipates a completely different test for his team tonight after Portsmouth left Withdean with a 2-1 victory back in December.

He told seagulls.co.uk, “The players have to get into their heads that this is a game against a team that beat us last time and who have done well in the league recently. We need to make sure we’re up to speed both physically and mentally.
“The opposition work hard both in attack and defence and are very positive in their play. We’ve watched the DVD again and addressed a few of those issues last night at training we we will be prepared.”
“We have only played one game this year, as most of the games have been in the cup. Ideally we wouldn’t want to be travelling to an away game midweek, but it’s a necessity to play this game at this stage in the season to hopefully get some points on the board.”
The Seagulls will be going into the match with a full-strength squad other than Rosie Kmita and Charley Boswell who have been ruled out with groin and thigh injuries respectively.
The game takes place at Blackfield & Langley FC, 7:45pm kick-off.
